Matthias Clamer

Matthias Clamer is an entertainment, celebrity, and portrait photographer known for both his creativity and technical lighting skills.

His talent lies in producing eye-catching imagery from even the most basic of premises, as well as remaining an even keel on set.

Always calm, even when working with the craziest of shoot schedules, he has photographed all manner of rock stars, Hollywood celebrities, business moguls, and comedians, as well as shooting for all the major TV studios.

Careful research goes into each portrait, no matter how famous and seemingly ‘known’ his subject may be.

Having learnt everything he can about his subject, Matthias then focuses on individual characteristics to hone his ideas and create the most visually striking imagery possible.

“I like to go into shoots with a plan, but the plan is not absolute; it’s a framework that needs furnishing.

A shoot is dynamic and needs space to breathe, which is the beauty of the photographic process.”

Matthias is from Germany and went to University in England, where he graduated with a B.A in Photography & Art.

He started his professional career in New York and lived there for 18 years before moving to LA for a further 6 years, before moving to his current home in France, with his wife, two kids, three dogs, and two cats.

As well as German and English, Matthias is also fluent in French and Spanish.
